Haseen Dilruba is a 2021 Netflix release directed by Vinil Mathew and written by Kanika Dhillon. It is a black comedy that tells the story of a murder and its investigation. Now it is set for a sequel Phir Aayi Haseen Dilruba which will be releasing on Netflix on 9 August and it is directed by Jayprad Desai this time. It brings back the wicked couple played by Taapsee Pannu and Vikrant Massey along with Sunny Kaushal in a love triangle.
Interestingly, the first film was critically received by film pundits yet had a baffling response from the fans who hailed its narrative technique and chilling performances. Will the sequel live upto the legacy? A lot of it depends on Taapsee’s performance as her portrayal of Rani was specially loved by everyone. Since the film is a female centric narrative it is of prime importance that Taapsee recreates a spellbinding effect on screen with Phir Aayi Haseen Dilruba. There is no doubt that the Badla, Thappad and Pink star has shown much versatility and is praised for her script choice.
