Aamir’s Delaying Tactics: No Confidence on SZP?

Among the flood of new film releases, it makes it extremely difficult for any new movie to stand out. That’s where effective marketing and promotions come into play.

Take recent films like Chhaava, Pushpa 2, and Singham Again- all of them began promoting months ahead of their release to build excitement among fans.

On the other hand, Aamir Khan’s Sitaare Zameen Par, which is slated for release on June 20, 2025, has yet to see any promotional material from the makers.

The trailer was supposed to be released this week, but in light of the recent Pahalgam attacks, Aamir and his team decided it would be best to delay the launch out of respect.

A new release date is expected within a fortnight.

Sitaare Zameen Par is a crucial film for Aamir- not just in terms of his career, but also because of what it represents.

It is the ultimate test to determine whether content-driven films starring superstars can still succeed at the box office in today’s era.

If Aamir’s risk with this film doesn’t land as intended, it’s likely that superstars will continue to chase big, mass-market entertainers that often lack substance.

A film’s trailer can significantly influence its box office performance. If it fails to excite audiences, the film’s chances of doing well in theatres drop sharply.

A similar mistake happened with Aamir’s previous film, Laal Singh Chaddha, where the trailer didn’t generate enough buzz, leading to a weak opening.

The Sitaare Zameen Par trailer needs to be emotional, funny, and touching- everything Aamir promised in his interviews. If it delivers, it could give the film the boost it needs.

Aamir hasn’t even released a poster yet, which has left many fans concerned. It seems like he himself is scared of how the audience might perceive it and is hence pushing the release of the trailer.

However, we can only hope the trailer is strong enough to make up for the slow start and spreads widely through word of mouth.
