Aamir Khan has long been associated with an ambitious vision to bring Mahabharat to the big screen. This project has remained one of the most talked about ideas of his career. The scale and depth of the story promise a grand cinematic experience.

The journey began in 2007 when Aamir Khan first spoke about adapting Mahabharat. Unlike regular films, the project demanded careful planning and preparation. The aim was to present the epic in a detailed and engaging format.

By 2010, the project moved into early stages of research and development. The team focused on script work, cultural accuracy and historical context. Financial planning and long term franchise ideas were also considered during this phase.

In 2015, Aamir Khan shared his interest in playing Lord Krishna. He also explored the idea of casting fresh faces for other roles. This marked a key creative shift in how the project was imagined.

After the success of Secret Superstar, Aamir Khan revisited the Mahabharat concept with a broader vision. The scale increased from five parts to an eight part series. The plan included established actors, higher budgets and global level production design.

The project faced several challenges over time, including concerns about feasibility and cost. Aamir Khan even decided to shelve the idea at one point. The massive investment required made progress difficult.

After a long pause, Aamir Khan has once again shown interest in restarting the project. Like the epic itself, the journey of Mahabharat continues with new developments. The idea remains alive despite past hurdles.

Known for his perfectionist approach, Aamir Khan carries high expectations from audiences. The project is expected to deliver strong storytelling and visual appeal. If completed, it could become a landmark cinematic achievement.
