Will Aditya Chopra Return to Direction to Revive YRF?

The latest buzz in Bollywood suggests that filmmaker and producer Aditya Chopra has started working on a new script. Reports indicate that the Yash Raj Films head has returned to writing after a long creative gap.

This development comes at a time when discussions around the future of the YRF Spy Universe are gaining attention. The popular action franchise includes successful films such as Ek Tha Tiger, War and Pathaan.

Industry conversations suggest that uncertainty around upcoming projects may have encouraged Aditya Chopra to revisit scriptwriting. The studio is reportedly evaluating several creative directions as it plans its next phase of productions.

At the same time, speculation continues around the fourth installment of the Dhoom franchise. Reports indicate that scripting work for the film is underway. Production is expected to begin sometime in 2026.

Ranbir Kapoor was earlier rumoured to be part of the project. However, the actor has not yet confirmed his involvement. Because of this, casting discussions are still believed to be ongoing.

Meanwhile, the Spy Universe continues to expand with new projects. One of the major upcoming films is War 2, which forms part of the interconnected action franchise created by Yash Raj Films.

However, some observers feel War 2 did not create the expected impact in theatres. This has sparked conversations about the long term direction of the Spy Universe. Even with stars like Hrithik Roshan and Jr. NTR, expectations remain high for future releases.

Because of these factors, industry watchers believe the studio could explore different storytelling approaches. The performance of upcoming films may influence the creative path chosen by the production house.

There is also speculation that Aditya Chopra might revisit the romantic storytelling style that once defined Yash Raj Films. Some believe he could even return to directing if the studio seeks a creative reset.

For now, the Spy Universe continues to remain a major commercial brand for the studio. However, combining large scale action with the classic YRF romance formula could become an important strategy for future projects.
