10 Years, 0 Hits: How This Hero Still Gets Biggies?

Four or five flops in ten years is something that can be accepted. However, ten flops for more than ten years is a situation that might need a check and Aditya Roy Kapur is currently going through the same.

Aditya’s latest film Metro In Dino is running in theatres now and it has hardly made any impact at the box office despite featuring a talented star cast, directed by Anurag Basu. The film collected around Rs. 3.50 crores on Day 1 and the situation is not looking so good for the upcoming days.

The film’s content has not impressed everyone, except for a section of the audience, which means that it might turn out to be a flop.

The ongoing situation of Metro In Dino is undoubtedly giving a message that Bollywood needs a change right now. The producers need to be careful with their choices and Metro In Dino’s casting should set an example for everyone.

Except for Aashiqui 2, Aditya Roy Kapur has hardly delivered any hits in the last ten years. While Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani was also a big hit, the film’s success has always been credited to its chartbuster soundtrack and the lead pair, Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone.

Despite that, Aditya has not delivered any hits, producers are investing almost Rs. 60 crores in the films where he has been cast. It is a good thing to be confident about a film’s success. But it is necessary to check everything that can attract the audience before releasing any film.

Aditya is a good-looking man, but it is not sufficient to pull huge crowds to the big screen. Although he made his debut more than ten years ago, Aditya has yet to establish himself as a big star in Bollywood.

People have been frequently demanding to see a new face in Hindi films since someone needs to be there to continue the trend of superstars in the upcoming years. But the makers need to rethink before they take any step in this situation.

Theatres are suffering losses and a few of them have already shut down their doors. Audiences have started consuming OTT content in a high amount and are hardly interested in visiting theatres. In this situation, a restructuring in Bollywood is necessary at the earliest. Let’s see if it happens.
