Ahead of Release, How Superstar Settled Issue

Releasing a big film without any controversies has become a herculean task for filmmakers across the country as religious and political sentiments are posing a big threat to films. Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan’s ‘Raees’ too is no exception.

With Pakistani actress Mahira Khan playing the lead, there was a sword hanging over the heads of the makers of ‘Raees’ as Maharashtra Navanirmana Samiti (MNS) issued ultimatum not to have Pakistani actors in Indian films.

Ahead of the film’s release, the superstar met the MNS chief and clarified that Mahira Khan isn’t going to promote the film in India. But, there is one more issue turning a sore in the neck. The trailer of the movie had a scene in which Shah Rukh Khan is seen jumping the holy flag of the Muslim sect Shias during the Moharram celebrations.

The religious leaders of this community want the makers to remove the scene as it is hurting their religious sentiments. Shahrukh Khan needs to address this issue as well, before the release of his film, coming on 25th January 2017.
