Ajay & Sanju’s Full-Scale Action Film for the First Time?

Producer Luv Ranjan has confirmed a major action adventure film that will unite Ajay Devgn and Sanjay Dutt in an action setting. This marks the first time the two stars will headline a full scale action film together in their long careers.

The project is tentatively titled Ranger and is being developed under the Luv Films banner. It is currently scheduled for a December 4 theatrical release later this year. The film is positioned as a large scale commercial entertainer.

In a recent interview, Luv Ranjan clarified that Ranger is only a working title. The name may change closer to release. With the film still almost a year away, the makers are not rushing the final title decision.

The casting has drawn strong attention across the industry. Ajay Devgn and Sanjay Dutt have shared screen space in the past. However, those collaborations were mostly light hearted films and not full fledged action projects.

Their earlier films together include Hum Kisise Kum Nahin, All The Best, Rascals, and Son of Sardaar. They also appeared separately in ensemble war films like LOC Kargil, Tango Charlie, and Bhuj: The Pride of India.

Ranger will place the two actors in a confrontational and action driven narrative. This pairing feels long overdue given their screen presence. The film is expected to capitalise on their contrasting styles and star power.

Tamannaah Bhatia will be seen in a key role in the film. The makers are planning the project as a big screen spectacle. It is being designed to appeal strongly to mass audiences.

Apart from Ranger, Luv Films has a busy slate ahead. The banner will begin the year with Vadh 2. The sequel continues the grounded drama led by Sanjay Mishra and Neena Gupta.

The production house is also backing Cocktail 2. The film is being produced with Dinesh Vijan and directed by Homi Adajania. These projects highlight a mix of genres under the banner.

Together, these films reflect Luv Ranjan’s focus on balancing scale with variety. The aim is to explore different storytelling styles. The strategy avoids dependence on a single formula.
