Akshay’s Disha Patani No Match for Katrina Kaif?

The Welcome franchise is returning with its third part, Welcome To The Jungle, and the makers have unveiled a teaser for its first song, Ucha Lamba Kad 2.0. The track is a remix of the popular 2007 song from the original Welcome and features Akshay Kumar dancing alongside Disha Patani.

The teaser was released on 4 November 2025 and brings back strong nostalgia. Akshay and the cast shared the clip on social media. Akshay also acknowledged the original track and paid a heartfelt tribute to Katrina Kaif, who made the song iconic in 2007. He posted, “With so much nostalgia, beautiful Disha Patani & I bring you ‘Welcome to the Jungle’… Never forgetting our Queen Katrina.”

This comment sparked a wave of comparisons online. Many viewers said Disha Patani cannot recreate Katrina’s impact. Social media users felt Katrina’s charm, elegance and screen presence in the original song set a benchmark that is hard to match. Some fans questioned why Bollywood continues to remix iconic tracks instead of creating new ones.

A section of fans also reminded Akshay of previous criticism for remaking his own hits, like “Tip Tip Barsa Paani” in Sooryavansham. Others felt the makers unintentionally highlighted the gap by openly mentioning Katrina during promotions.
