Akshay as Villain, Saif as Hero: One Big Problem?

Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan have together delivered some very entertaining films over the years and have collaborated on several projects.

Tashan, Main Khiladi Tu Anari, Yeh Dillagi, Tu Chor Main Sipahi, and Keemat have showcased the immense chemistry between Akshay and Saif, despite some of these films being mediocre at the box office.

With such a filmography together, fans developed a great taste for the duo over the years.

After all these years, the duo is aiming to reunite once again. The expectations should be even higher for the fans as renowned director Priyadarshan will be directing the film.

With such a stellar cast in hand, Akshay Kumar is expected to play the role of the villain in the film, but the only drawback is that the film is a remake of Priyadarshan’s Oppam.

While fans were excited to learn that two legendary actors will be reuniting, the only problem is that the film is a remake.

Given the impressive stellar cast, it is a risky bet regarding the success of the film, as remakes haven’t been successful at the box office.

Films like Baby John and Deva had some potential if they were original films, but the remake factor made them eventual disasters at the box office.

Akshay Kumar himself has delivered continuous flops with remakes in the post-pandemic world like Laxmii, Bachchhan Paandey, Selfiee, Sarfira, and Cuttputlli.

Though Oppam had a decent box office outing and received favorable reviews all around, it remains to be seen if audiences will turn up to see the legendary duo of Akshay and Saif once again after all these years.
