A property dispute involving Akshay Kumar’s family has taken a dramatic turn. Yes, that’s right. Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) functionary Ganesh Chukkal was recently arrested in a cheating and forgery case linked to a luxury apartment in Mumbai’s Powai.
The MNS vibhag pramukh, 46, was arrested by Powai police on Friday in connection with a case dating back to 2022. He is accused of forging the signature of Alka Bhatia Hiranandani, Akshay Kumar’s sister, to fabricate a 30-year lease deed for a flat in Hiranandani Estates.
According to the FIR, Ganesh, a former director of Bryce Infrastructure, allegedly forged the signatures of Alka and other directors of Melronia Hospitality Private Limited to create the disputed lease document for Flat No. 3505 in the Odonio Building. The company’s directors subsequently filed a complaint accusing him of cheating and forgery.
The case centres on allegations that a property agreement was fraudulently extended from three years to 30 years. The disputed document reportedly surfaced after the company sought to resolve the tenancy dispute. This also led to allegations that the signatures of its directors had been fabricated.
Ganesh Chukkal was produced before a local court, which remanded him to police custody until October 5 for further investigation. Police are continuing to examine the circumstances surrounding the alleged forgery and the involvement of other individuals.
The investigation remains ongoing, and the allegations against Ganesh have not been established in court.
