Akshay’s BTS Controversy: Full U-Turn in 5 Months?

There’s something lovely about not knowing how things work – whether it’s a magician’s trick or a blockbuster film.

Sometimes the less we know the more we marvel. This is a topic of debate: should we be let in on the secrets or should we keep the illusion? Akshay Kumar’s recent comments highlight this point.

In January 2025 he said that showing audiences the making of films is like spoiling a magic trick.

He said that revealing too much takes away the wonder that surrounded cinema and its stars.

For him the magic of movies lies in the mystery and overexposure through behind the scenes content kills that excitement.

But just a few days ago he said he enjoys behind the scenes footage himself especially the VFX breakdowns of English films.

Akshay Kumar even said learning from these videos is his “main interest”. This has raised eyebrows with some pointing out the inconsistency between his personal curiosity and his public stance.

Akshay Kumar’s views are a reflection of a bigger debate in filmmaking – how much should we reveal and how much should we keep hidden?

While curiosity drives learning and appreciation too much transparency can kill the magic. Finding the balance is a challenge for both the filmmakers and the fans.
