Allu Arjun’s Biggest Plus: No Value, No Stardom?

Shreyas Talpade is famous for a voice for Allu Arjun in Pushpa, and through that popularity, an issue is raised that needs urgent attention-for voice-over artists, there is little acknowledgment.

The actor says those who create voices have more stardom and should be paid better than what’s being currently done in films.

The success of Pushpa has brought voice-over artists into the limelight, and Talpade received much appreciation.

He, however, pointed out that voice artists hardly get the same recognition, stardom, or royalties as on-screen actors, even though their work is crucial to the success of a film.

Voice artists are the backbone of a film, but their work goes unnoticed. Talpade rightly said that they should be given equal importance and remuneration as actors.

Though Pushpa has brought much attention, the issue of underpayment and no recognition for voice artists still prevails.

The best approach is illustrated by initiatives like the Netflix-produced program “The Voicebox”, where the recognition within the industry hasn’t happened despite such developments.

And thus leads to neglect within the area: voice actors only get marginal mentions and pay out of films made, and which are entirely inconceivable without those voices.

Voice-over artists are ignored in Indian cinema, yet they are extremely important. The time has now come when such a systemic change will be required that will bring about stardom and the reward deserved.
