The film stars Alia Bhatt and Sharvari in the leading roles, alongside Bobby Deol and Anil Kapoor. Directed by Shiv Rawail, this upcoming action thriller is meant to be the first female led film in the YRF Spy Universe.

Despite the star power, Alpha is currently carrying surprisingly low buzz and a negative reputation online. A large reason for this negativity comes from the recent track record of the YRF Spy Universe. Audiences have grown tired of their one sided politics, victimization of Pakistan, and portrayal of Indian officials as villains.

To make matters worse, recent rumors suggest that Alia Bhatt is playing a trained assassin rather than a traditional intelligence officer. This concept has immediately sparked heavy criticism online, with users calling the plot a copy of Marvel’s Black Widow. Social media users are pointing out the striking similarities, especially with reports of Bobby Deol playing a villain who trains young girls from childhood to become cold blooded killers.

YRF delayed the film multiple times so that this negativity could cool down, but it seems like people are in no mood to watch anything that shows Indian nationals in a bad light after the Dhurandhar movies. Inside sources claim that the makers are now tired of postponing and are thinking about dumping the film as soon as they see an opportunity.
