Amazon Cuts a Deal with Bollywood Producer

Renowned e-commerce website Amazon.com is in the highlights with its latest collaboration. In a declaration, the company revealed that it has partnered with Karan Johar’s production house, Dharma Productions. With Prime Video’s launch in India, Amazon’s partnership is a strategy to gain the rights of local Indian movies.

A little while ago, Amazon had announced its collaboration with Vishesh films who owns several Telugu movies and now with Dharma Productions as its ally, several upcoming Bollywood movies will now be available on the site. Few upcoming movies to be available on amazon include the much awaited ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ starring Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Ranbir Kapoor, ‘Ok Jaanu’ featuring Aditya Roy Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor, and ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania’ starring Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt.

Nitesh Kripalani, Director and Country Head of Amazon Video India stated that they are “excited to have Dharma Productions’ library and future slate of titles for the upcoming launch of Prime Video.”
