The film follows the story of a television star named Samar Mehra, whose successful life suddenly collapses after he gets accused of a serious crime.

Bobby Deol appears in a completely different space compared to many of his earlier mainstream hero roles. He plays a broken man who has lost everything and is now struggling inside prison.

Interestingly, Bobby Deol has previously portrayed wrongly accused characters in films like Jurm and Ajnabee.
In Jurm, his character was accused of murdering his wife, while in Ajnabee, he faced accusations related to the death of Akshay Kumar’s wife.
However, Bandar appears to approach a similar emotional setup in a much darker and more realistic style.
The film also stars Sanya Malhotra and Saba Azad in important roles.
