BATA Sends Legal Notice to Top Hero for Trailer Shot

Akshay Kumar starrer ‘Jolly LLB 2’ is back in the highlights and this time it is a legal notice that’s got our attention. Apparently, the courtroom drama has a scene in its recently released trailer in which they imply that the footwear brand Bata is to be worn by “lower strata of society”. Needless to say, the brand has taken offense and sent legal notice to the leading actors, filmmakers, and Fox Studios among others.

The footwear brand’s representative said that Akshay’s reaction on Kapoor’s charcter pointing out his Bata shoes is shown such that “one should feel humiliated if one wears BATA footwear”.

They also said that the insult was to tarnish the image of Bata as a footwear brand while pushing up some competitor brands promoted by Akshay Kumar.

The filmmakers have yet to comment on the issue.
