Trouble for Salman’s Galwan: PR Cleanup Going On?

The teaser of Battle of Galwan was released a few days ago, revealing its release date and drawing mixed reactions online. Much of the early criticism focused on Salman Khan’s smile in the teaser, which quickly became a talking point.

In the days that followed, social media sentiment began to shift. Several users defended the expression, suggesting it reflected leadership and motivation in a tense situation, while others praised the teaser as a hard-hitting glimpse that could pull audiences to theatres.

However, the discussion soon took another turn, with netizens alleging PR-driven damage control. Many online users accused the makers of attempting to reshape public opinion and generate attention to boost ticket sales.

Some critics went further, claiming the team’s actions reflected a lack of confidence in the film’s content. They suggested that heightened online activity was being used to keep the project in the spotlight.

The war drama is reportedly made on a budget of Rs 200 crore, making recovery a challenging task. Concerns remain as Salman Khan has struggled recently to draw massive crowds, and this marks his first non-holiday release.

Fans are also worried about competition from Dhurandhar 2, which is scheduled to arrive a month earlier. A strong theatrical run for that film could affect the response to Battle of Galwan.

Director Apoorva Lakhia does not have a strong commercial track record, adding to the uncertainty. Still, trade experts believe Salman’s fan base could ensure solid opening day numbers.

With several months left for release and more promotional material yet to be unveiled, the film’s fate remains open. It remains to be seen whether Salman Khan can deliver the expected comeback with Battle of Galwan.
