Not Even 10 Cr, a Disaster

Whenever a big film with a big hero is going for a release, the trade expectations on the opening collections will be naturally high. But, Sanday Dutt’s comeback vehicle ‘Bhoomi’ failed to excite audiences and it is running towards being a disaster.

After three days, the movie’s collections added to mere Rs. 7.48 crores. The number is far less than expected from the comeback film of a hero who had been a Superstar before his conviction in the illegal possession of arms case. The least the trade expected from the weekend collections was Rs. 10 crores.

But then, the repetitive theme with rape and revenge backdrop had added to the hackneyed plot and clumsy narration. The director failed with his script and Sanjay Dutt is no more a crowd puller. So, when there is nothing new to excite audiences, there will be no chance of pulling them to theaters. Dutt should have opted for a different theme.
