Bold: Release Poster Showing Middle Finger

After all the fight and denial from the Central Board of Film Certification, the Bollywood movie ‘Lipstick Under My Burkha’ (LUMB) is all set to come to theatres on 21st July. The makers of the movie, Balaji Motion Pictures have released a brand new poster which is quite bold.

As if giving a counter to the denial from the CBFC calling the film as ‘lady-oriented’, ‘audio pornography’ and ‘sexually contagious’, the poster of the film shows the middle finger along with the release date of the film. Finally, the film which already won awards in the international arena is going to come to our theatres.

This film talks about the secret lives of four women and discusses in detail the concept of equality and freedom of women. Such rebellious tales need to be told opine the makers of the movie. We want to let to be women instead of constantly being told what to be and what not to be. This is said to be the spirit and that rebellion shows in the release poster, quite effectively.
