A Bollywood actor, known for supporting roles in popular films like Karan Johar‘s Student of the Year, has been arrested at Chennai Airport. Customs officers seized 3.5 kilograms of cocaine from his luggage. The narcotics are valued at around Rs 35 crore in the international market.
The arrest came through a joint operation by Chennai Customs and the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence. During baggage inspection, officials found plastic pouches filled with a white powder hidden in a false compartment. A drug test later confirmed it was cocaine.
The actor had travelled from Singapore after earlier visiting Cambodia. Reports suggest he claimed strangers in Cambodia gave him the suitcase and asked him to deliver it to someone in Chennai. Officials suspect the drugs may have been meant for major crime centres in Mumbai or Delhi.
Investigators are now checking his travel history and contacts to trace links to a wider drug network. The actor’s identity has not been revealed. The case has drawn major media coverage due to his film connection and the high value of the seizure.
Authorities have stated that more details will be shared as the probe moves forward. The actor remains in custody and will face further questioning as part of the ongoing investigation.
