BO Scam Exposed: Corporate Bookings Confirmed?

The Bollywood box office has been under scrutiny for years especially with films like Sky Force, Stree 2, Chhaava, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, Dunki, and Salaar, with whispers of corporate bookings and self-bought tickets manipulating numbers.

Now, the FICCI M&E report has officially confirmed that producers and distributors are inflating box office collections by buying tickets for their own films to create an illusion of success.

According to the report, major studios have observed a growing trend where films artificially boost their opening numbers to appear as hits.

This practice isn’t limited to flops—even successful films use it to cross bigger milestones. If a film is set to be a hit, they aim for superhit status; if it’s already a blockbuster, they push for record-breaking collections.

The absence of a transparent system like Rentrak has allowed Bollywood to operate in a gray area, where producer-reported figures often go unchecked.

Unlike Hollywood, where box office data is strictly monitored, Bollywood continues to rely on inflated numbers to control the narrative.

Despite industry insiders hinting at this for years, this FICCI confirmation makes it impossible to deny. The real question is—will Bollywood finally clean up its act, or will it continue fooling audiences with fake numbers?
