The Anushka starrer Bhaagamathie is getting remade as Durgavati in Hindi. Bhumi Pednekar stars in the title role in the psychological-thriller.
If the deal is locked, it will be second back to back OTT release for Bhumi Pednekar after Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamkate Sitare. Currently, the movie is in post-production stage with a couple of days of patchwork shoot remaining to be done. They will be completed soon.
The talks are going on with Amazon Prime Video. If everything goes through as planned, an official announcement will come out soon.
G Ashok who directed the original is behind Bhaagamathie as well. Arshad Warsi, Jisshu Sengupta and Mahie Gill play the key roles. Vikram Malhotra produces the film in association with Akshay Kumar and Bhusan Kumar. Incidentally, Malhotra’s previous production Shakuntala Devi too had a digital release.
