Bollywood’s Iconic Screen Mother Dies

Reema Lagoo, popular for playing mother roles to perfection for top Bollywood stars is no more. She breathed her last today in Mumbai after suffering a cardiac arrest. She was 59 years old.

The actress made her mother role iconic by appearing in movies like Maine Pyaar Kiya (Prema Pavuralu), Hum Apke Hain Kaun (Premalayam), Rangeela, Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge (Preminchi Pelladu), and Hum Saath Saath Hain, etc. Many of these movies are a monumental success and remembered as classics for across India, making her immortal through those roles.

Apart from the roles in Bollywood, she also acted in Marathi film and did Television serials as well. Her role as Mother-in-law in popular series Tu Tu Main Main is also a greatly revered and seen as a classic. May, her soul, rest in peace.
