Border 2 Day 1 BO Below Expectations: 500-Cr Dream Shatters?

While pre sales were strong Border 2 opened slightly lower than expected on its first day. The Sunny Deol starrer earned around 33 crores. Many trade estimates had placed the opening above 40 crores.

The film has already touched the 40 crore mark in overseas collections. Because of this there is hope it will cross 40 crores in the domestic market during the extended weekend. Early trends look positive.

Collections have shown steady growth since the first day. Saturday and Sunday are expected to push the film past the 40 crore mark. This rise has given the trade some confidence.

Monday being Republic Day is also expected to help the film. Border 2 carries patriotic themes that connect well with the holiday mood. This could bring in a sharp jump in footfall.

This extended weekend is the best chance for the film to secure a super hit status. It needs to earn over 40 crores each day. Strong holds during these days will decide its final verdict.

Trade analysts earlier expected the film to cross 500 crores. That target now looks difficult based on current trends. The film may end around 350 crores if collections remain steady.

Sunny Deol has received strong praise for his performance. Viewers have also liked Varun Dhawan and Diljit Dosanjh in key roles. Their presence has added to the film’s appeal.

The next few days will be crucial for Border 2. Its extended weekend numbers will decide its long term box office run. All eyes are now on whether it crosses 40 crores each day.
