Pirated Print Playing in Theatres? Border 2 Embarrassment

Border 2 continues its successful theatrical run across India. However, an incident reported from a theatre in Bhind, Madhya Pradesh, has sparked controversy. A social media video allegedly shows a pirated print of Sunny Deol’s film being screened inside a cinema.

The video was reportedly recorded at Sharda Cinema. The user who shared it expressed anger, stating that the town has only one theatre. He claimed the incident damaged the reputation of local politician Rakesh Chaudhry.

The individual further criticised the theatre for charging extra parking fees. Despite paying for tickets and other costs, viewers were allegedly shown a pirated version of the film. This, according to him, reflected poorly on theatre management.

The clip shows the projection screen displaying what appears to be a laptop interface. A folder containing multiple downloaded films is visible, with Border 2 among them. The movie is shown being played directly from the media player.

This incident has once again raised serious concerns about movie piracy in theatres. Several online users demanded strict action against torrent websites. Some also urged authorities to take steps against Telegram, alleging it enables circulation of pirated theatre prints.

Netizens further asked higher officials to inspect cinema halls regularly. A section of users called for stricter enforcement of rules banning video recording inside theatres. They believe stronger monitoring can prevent such incidents.

Sunny Deol’s fans reacted with mixed opinions. While many criticised the alleged piracy, a few claimed it might still help Border 2 draw attention. Meanwhile, the theatre management and local authorities have not issued any official statement.
