Brahmastra 2: Should Ayan Mukerji Direct Ranbir-Deepika?

It has been more than three years since Brahmastra released in theatres. The film received a mixed response and did not become a major hit. However, a section of the audience is still waiting for Brahmastra 2 to continue the story.

Recent online reports suggest that Deepika Padukone may be part of the sequel. The makers are planning a larger scale production this time. There is also a clear focus on improving the overall quality of the film.

Earlier plans for the franchise were quite different. Around eight years ago, there were ideas to include cameo appearances by Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh. However, Ranveer Singh did not come on board for the project.

Insiders now claim that Ranbir Kapoor may take on an expanded role in the sequel. This could lead to another collaboration between Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone after a long gap. The film is expected to go on floors next year.

Reports also suggest that Namit Malhotra has joined the project. At the same time, many online users have raised concerns about Ayan Mukerji continuing as director. Some viewers have questioned his suitability after the response to War 2.

A section of the audience has suggested bringing a director from the South industry. They believe such filmmakers have stronger experience in handling fantasy and superhero based stories. This has added to the ongoing discussion around the sequel.

After the success of Animal, fans are eager to see Ranbir Kapoor in a mass oriented role. Expectations from Brahmastra 2 are therefore very high. The film will need to deliver strong content to meet this demand.

The biggest question remains about the sequel’s box office potential. It is yet to be seen whether Brahmastra 2 can surpass the collections of the first film. The coming updates will play a key role in shaping audience expectations.
