Can Lakshya & Aneet Revive Maddock After Thamma Flop?

After gaining attention with Kill and The Ba**ds of Bollywood*, Lakshya has been finalised for Shakti Shalini. The update came months after Aneet Padda was confirmed as the female lead. The casting has sparked curiosity among audiences.

Viewers are keen to see Lakshya in a new on-screen form. Sources say the next instalment of the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe is set to begin filming in January. However, the production house has not locked a release date yet.

The makers are currently finalising shooting locations and other logistics. If the schedule stays on track, the film could release by the end of next year. The director for the project has not been officially announced so far.

Interest is high as both leads are relatively fresh faces. Lakshya’s intense screen presence and distinct voice have found acceptance among viewers. Aneet’s performance in Saiyaara continues to be discussed online.

Shakti Shalini explores a different genre within the franchise. Supernatural elements are expected to feature prominently. Strong female-driven themes are also said to play a key role in shaping the narrative.

At the same time, some viewers remain cautious. They have pointed to the average response received by Thamma. Several have suggested that Dinesh Vijan should slow down and plan carefully instead of rushing production.

Budget management remains another concern for the makers. Maintaining the franchise’s success will depend on controlled costs. Profit sharing among actors and stakeholders may be crucial for recovery.

For now, the film’s prospects remain uncertain. A clearer picture will emerge after a teaser or trailer is released. Until then, expectations continue to stay measured.
