Dhurandhar Passes with Abuses but Another Film Delayed?

CBFC decisions often create debate, and recent developments have brought the issue back into focus. The earlier discussion around censorship in Dhurandhar had already sparked reactions. Now, another film has come under attention due to similar concerns.

Binnu Dhillon’s Khushkhabri reportedly underwent six cuts to receive certification. The film’s release was delayed by a week because of a specific word. Although it is now ready for theatres, Binnu Dhillon has openly expressed dissatisfaction over the process.

Binnu Dhillon has accused CBFC of partiality in its decisions. He stated that films like Dhurandhar were treated more leniently. According to him, regional cinema, including Punjabi films, is facing increasing challenges with censorship approvals.

Online users have supported Binnu Dhillon’s claims. Many pointed out that several films are waiting for release due to CBFC actions. Some also warned that delays could push films into long term uncertainty, similar to what happened with Anurag Kashyap’s Paanch.

Fans from different film industries have also reacted. Support came from Thalapathy Vijay’s followers, who are already waiting for updates on Jana Nayagan. The discussion has now expanded beyond one film to a broader industry concern.

Some viewers have agreed with the claims of inconsistency. They cited examples where scenes from Superman were edited, while similar content in Saiyaara reportedly faced fewer changes. This has added to the perception of uneven censorship decisions.

Censorship concerns have also been raised around Tamil films like Viduthalai, Jailer, and Valimai. Viewers noted that certain scenes involving violence or language were edited in a way that appeared inconsistent across different films.

However, it is also noted that Dhurandhar did undergo edits, especially for violent scenes and abusive language. Despite this, Binnu Dhillon’s statements have reignited debate on censorship standards and creative freedom in Indian cinema.

The issue once again brings focus to freedom of expression and fair certification practices. It remains to be seen whether these concerns will lead to any policy changes or more clarity in CBFC guidelines.
