National Award-winning filmmaker Rajesh Mapuskar is set to direct Chiranjeevi Hanuman – The Eternal, which will release in theatres on Hanuman Jayanti in 2026. The film has already created buzz for being India’s first fully AI-made feature on Lord Hanuman.
Rajesh Mapuskar, known for Ventilator (2016) and Ferrari Ki Sawaari (2012), has a reputation for emotional storytelling and unique direction. His involvement in Chiranjeevi Hanuman has raised expectations about how he will present the mythology of Hanuman through technology.
The project’s biggest talking point is its complete use of artificial intelligence in production. While some call it a landmark for Indian cinema, others remain doubtful about depending entirely on AI for creativity and performance.
Supporters believe this step signals a new era for filmmaking in India, blending mythological storytelling with futuristic innovation. But many on social media argue that full reliance on AI undermines artists and threatens creative integrity in cinema.
The debate over whether a “fully AI-made” movie is ethically right continues to dominate online discussions. Viewers are divided — some see it as a revolution, others as a warning for the film industry’s future.
Fans of Rajesh Mapuskar and cinema enthusiasts are waiting to see how this ambitious project reshapes Indian filmmaking. Produced by Vikram Malhotra of Abundantia Entertainment and Vijay Subramaniam of Collective Media Network, Chiranjeevi Hanuman promises to redefine visual storytelling when it releases in 2026.
