Controversial Actress Slams SRK!

BJP MP and actress Kangana Ranaut has come out once again attacking Bollywood. In a recent statement given at the recent News18 Chaupal event, the actress strongly criticized the Bollywood actors who, despite having high net-worth, still promote harmful substances like tobacco through surrogate advertising.

She said that such actions by the actors, frequently made for financial gains, often undermined public health, and have a negative impact on society as a whole.

This is a much too real problem in Bollywood as many prominent stars such as SRK, Ajay Devgn, Amitabh Bachchan, etc. have continuously promoted products like tobacco, often disguised as “Elaichi”, through surrogate advertising.

Once backlash arrives these actors often say that they didn’t know about this, and are binded by a contract, through which the company can show their faces for a specific period of time.

Kangana also stated that the actors participate in provocative songs with people less than half of their age, which contributes to the sexualization of children.

She slammed the stars for not speaking up on important national matters, which could opinionate a lot of people, considering the influence they wield over the public. Kangana herself, is a Member of Parliament from Mandi in Himachal Pradesh, and is often very vocal about the controversies of Bollywood.
