Controversial Heroine Bags a Big Star Film

Akshay Kumar’s next venture is already in news. The film, titled ‘Padman’, deals with a man obsessed with women’s menstrual cycles. The latest we hear about the film is that actress Radhika Apte of Balakrishna’s ‘Legend’ fame has been cast as the female lead.

This film which aims to dissolve the stigma relating to menstruation will have Radhika play the role of Akshay’s wife. Her character will be of a nagging wife who is so embarrassed of her husband’s interest in menstrual cycles that she leaves him. However, as makers revealed that this unconventional film will have a “happy ending”.

Directed by R.Balki, the film is a light-hearted social drama which will also feature popular actress Sonam Kapoor. Details about her character haven’t been revealed yet. The film based on a true story will be Twinkle Khanna’s first production.
