Day 1: Shahrukh Shows Who the Boss Is

Whenever a Shahrukh Khan’s movie is releasing, no other big film will even dare to have a clash with it. But, this time it was a Shahrukh Khan’s film ‘Raees’ that clashed with another star hero Hrithik Roshan’s film ‘Kaabil‘.

The opening day collections of the two movies are out and there wouldn’t be any prizes for guessing as it was Shahrukh Khan’s movie that emerged as winner earning 13 crores more than ‘Kaabil’. While ‘Raees’ collected approximately 21 crores, ‘Kaabil’ earned approximately 8 crores on Day one.

But, there are other factors to take into consideration. While ‘Kaabil’ was given 40% of theaters for release, was lucky enough to get more theaters, i.e., 60% of the total theaters. This could be one of the reasons for the lead. However, one can’t erase the fact that Shahrukh Khan’s aura is different from Hrithik’s stardom.

As this is an extended weekend, the final figures till Monday will decide the real winner at the box-office. With the kind of buzz surrounding the two movies, critical reviews, box-office reception, and their box-office potential are going to be the deciding factor.
