JHMS was initially supposed to clash with Toilet Ek Prem Katha, but SRK opted out of the clash. Later, the star undersold his film to distributors. These two moves made fans doubt the result, but still, they were confident in the strength genre of the star.

Despite the tricks, the film has failed at the box office and how. The movie is going to end up as the biggest disaster in the career of the star in a long time. The blame right now is put on the director Imtiaz Ali. We have to see how long it takes for the realization to set in?
