Devara had its theatrical debut today and with the film being Tarak’s first theatrical release in 6 years, the anticipation is naturally high in the Telugu market. The North American box office numbers are also good.

As per reliable box office reports coming in from the Hindi belt, the film is likely to open in the vicinity of Rs 5 crore.
While the number might sound small, it shall be noted that the Hindi box office had been largely volatile with even stars struggling for openings. At this rate, the opening that Devara is getting can be considered decent.
The film is apparently being supported by the mass pockets in Hindi belt and if the mass locked in Bihar and Odisha pick up by night, then the number could go up to Rs 6 crore it seems.
Devara has a killer album and big names associated with it. If it can capitalise on the decent start, it could well throw a surprise. It all comes down to how the mass belts own the film from tomorrow.
