Devara Hindi: Slow Start But Huge Potential

Kortala Siva’s pan-Indian directorial venture has released in the northern belt. The Hindi language release is targetting audiences with the star appeal of Bollywood celebs like Saif Ali Khan and Janhvi Kapoor.

With almost 3 hours of run time, the challenges for the film’s viewership might be high but it still shows immense potential. The NTR Jr. led Devara has witnessed a decent opening of 5-6 crore which is much better than many of the big Bollywood films like Vikram Vedha, Jug Jugg Jeeyo, Laal Singh Chaddha, and Dream Girl 2.

To increase the performance on the box office many of the cineplexes have kept a reasonable rate of tickets. To gather walk-in audiences the morning shows have been kept at a rate of 150 rupees.

Devara might have started at a low point but it certainly does not means that it has hit a dead end. As of today it sold around 8500 tickets in the 3 pivotal theatre chains. The final pre-sale is expected to add up to a whopping 20,000 tickets.

Devara might not be as big as RRR but it has huge potential if it is able to gather word of mouth from the right range of audiences. Anything can happen in showbizz and a slow start doesn’t necessarily means an overall flop run.
