Actor and model Dino Morea, known for films like Raaz and Aksar, recently opened up about the effects of pornographic content on young minds. Speaking on The Durrex Podcast hosted by Abhay Deol, he shared his thoughts on its psychological impact.
Morea said that teenagers often get exposed to adult content too early because of curiosity, excitement, and rising testosterone levels. This exposure, he explained, shapes their understanding of intimacy in unrealistic ways.
According to him, many teens grow up believing that what they watch online represents normal behaviour. They start thinking that intimacy should look or last a certain way or that partners must have ideal body types seen in such videos.
Morea clarified that real intimacy is never like what’s shown on screen. He said pornographic content often distorts perceptions of physical connection, creating unhealthy expectations without viewers even realising it.
He pointed out that when young people engage in real relationships, they sometimes imitate what they’ve seen online. If their experiences don’t match those expectations, they end up feeling inadequate or anxious.
Morea stressed that true intimacy is a shared experience, built on comfort and mutual understanding. He reminded listeners that porn is staged acting, where emotions are exaggerated and situations are far from genuine.
He warned that such content can also promote toxic behaviour, with some men believing dominance or aggression makes them more desirable. This mindset, he said, harms both emotional and social development.
Morea concluded that open communication about intimacy and proper sex education are vital. They help teenagers understand what’s real, develop healthy attitudes, and build relationships based on respect rather than unrealistic standards.
