Diwali BO Clash: Pushpa 2 Deciding Factor!

The screen-sharing dispute between Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 and Singham Again is currently stuck because of differing profit splits across theater chains.

While Cinepolis and other independent theaters are willing to go with a 55-45 split in favor of Singham Again—a plan agreed upon by Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’s producers—PVR Inox is pushing for a 60-40 split instead.

PVR Inox is also distributing Singham Again leading them to demand a bigger share and encouraging other chains to follow which is not fair.

As things stand, 55-45% in favor of Singham Again was anticipated, given that it’s considered the bigger Diwali release, but the trailers of both films left audiences fairly balanced.

In single-screen theaters, the two films are expected to run with equal shows since the Diwali weekend promises full occupancy, so theaters won’t lose out on either film.

Plus, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 shares a distributor with Pushpa 2, the year’s biggest release, adding an incentive for exhibitors to keep it on screens.

Ultimately, screen schedules will adjust based on audience turnout. A five-screen multiplex may start with Singham Again having slightly more shows, but this could change if Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 shows better attendance.

In single screens, the standard plan may be two shows per film, but if one movie fails to perform, exhibitors will pull it off regardless of contracts.

It’s unfair for distributors to insist theaters keep showing a film with no audience when another is doing better.
