Trailer Talk: Mainstreaming Of Another Controversial Subject

Over the years and across the various industries in India, there have been numerous films that have touched controversial and taboo subjects. But most of those were either low key or experimental flicks.

In the recent past, Bollywood film is picking up controversy stirring themes and giving them a mainstream commercial spin. Veere Di Wedding was an example of such commercialisation. Now, the Hindi film industry has gone a step ahead with Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga which is portraying lesbian love onscreen featuring mainstream commercial known faces. Sonam Kapoor is seen playing that character while his real-life father Anil Kapoor plays the dad on screen as well. Southern actress Regina Cassandra reportedly plays the love interest of Sonam Kapoor in the movie that also comprises of several well-known faces.

Check out the trailer below which is neatly cut. Shelly Chopra Dhar directs the movie. But, will the Indian audience accept this love story is something that needs to be seen. Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga will release worldwide on February 1st.
