Foreign Film Beats Modi at Box-Office

Hollywood always had a big market here in India for its international reach and the films have been giving a tough time to the regional films at the theaters. Even Bollywood is no different when it comes to competing with Hollywood’s mind smashing films at its own place.

Aladdin starring Will Smith as the fun Genie, has made more than the twice of what the Bollywood release, Modi Biopic did.

The Disney product collected over 4.25 crores on its first day giving it a mammoth opening at the theaters while Modi collected half of it, 2.5 crores on its first day. Then comes Arjun Kapoor’s India’s Most Wanted, which could manage to take 2 crores on its opening.

Both the films couldn’t come near to that of Disney’s making and the trade analysts say the two need to get a lot of word of mouth spread to bring people to the shows in the coming days. If not, it won’t take much longer for the B-Town films to get swept away by the demand of Aladdin. Aladdin was released in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu too, while interestingly, Venkatesh gave dubbing to the Genie character and Varun Tej spoke for Aladdin role.
