Announcement by Subhash Ghai on Aitraaz 2 left a rumor that Priyanka Chopra might reprise her role as the bold character again. On the contrary, Ghai announced that it will have a different cast and that will make people feel both nostalgic and excited as this sequel will be a re-write of the plot.
Ghai has joined hands with the director of OMG 2, Amit Rai, and is all set to make a modern-day version with contemporary heroes. Studio interest is pushing the project forward, and an official announcement is on the cards
Chopra’s absence is an indication of going for the younger audience. The director promises the fans that the sequel will continue the legacy of the franchise with a bold story that explores new concepts relevant to today’s audience.
Socially conscious horror films such as Tumbbad and Stree are rising, and Aitraaz 2 might have its part of horror. The above innovation might make a difference in the sequel being placed in a genre or so while still holding core thriller elements.
Aitraaz 2 might transform itself, even if Priyanka’s presence changes expectations; it will be keen among the fans to see the growth as bold themes and genre experiments will help this film outshine the former one.
