Housefull 5 BO: Last Big Day to Avoid Flop Verdict?

Housefull 5, the fifth entry in the hit comedy franchise, is showing commendable box office strength.

Backed by Sajid Nadiadwala’s Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment, the film has zoomed past the Rs 200 crore milestone at the global box office within just nine days of its release.

Currently, it pulled in over Rs 155 crore gross. On the other hand, overseas markets have added approximately Rs 48 crore to its tally.

Earlier, the film received mixed reviews from critics and audiences alike. Mostly, it was due to the crass content and vulgarity in the film.

However, it still managed to hold its ground, thanks to franchise loyalty and strong word-of-mouth in certain pockets.

With today being its second and last Sunday, trade experts anticipate one last major surge before collections begin to dip significantly from Monday.

Housefull 5 is also projected to wrap up its theatrical run at around Rs 275 crore globally. However, the arrival of Aamir Khan’s Sitaare Zameen Par next weekend may divert audience attention. This can cut short the film’s box office run.

While Housefull 5 might not be a critical darling, its performance is a much-needed breather, especially for Akshay Kumar after a string of underwhelming releases.
