‘I and Deverakonda Are like Cousins’

Maybe, Shahid Kapoor thinks that he has portrayed the complex character in ‘Kabir Singh’ in a different way unlike what Vijay Deverakonda did in his cult movie ‘Arjun Reddy’. Nonetheless, those who know thoroughly about the original think otherwise. The teaser and even the promo posters looked like exact copies of the original.

But, Shahid Kapoor has a different opinion. According to the Bollywood star, though ‘Kabir Singh’ is a faithful remake of ‘Arjun Reddy’, he and Vijay Deverakonda are not similar but like cousins. That means they aren’t the same person.

Besides this, they have changed the upbringing of his character and made it different from ‘Arjun Reddy’ though the energy of the character is the same. It’s hard for Shahid Kapoor to avoid the comparisons with Deverakonda who gave a terrific performance as an energetic guy and has anger management issues.

He might be right in his opinion. So far, whatever we have got to see looked as if it was a frame to frame remake of the original. Let’s see wait for the remake and see how different did Shahid portray the role.
