Deva is not doing very well at the box office and some people are saying that the credit goes to Pushpa 2 and its humongous success. Pushpa 2 was recently released on OTT and it is gathering great views there as well.
Netizens think people are skipping watching Deva in theaters because they think they already have an alternative to watch at home. Deva and Pushpa both are action movies and Deva’s hype is nowhere near Pushpa’s.
The timing for Deva’s theatrical release did not work out well for the movie. There are not many holidays there and Pushpa 2 is reigning on the OTT level too.
Deva is talked about by some critics and audiences as a technically well made movie but it has been marketed as an out and out action thriller which makes it more comparable to Pushpa 2.
If there is nothing new in the story, people are not going to spend money to go to the theaters and watch a movie. They will be happy with Pushpa 2 in spite of its so-called cringe-worthy scenes.
