It’s Raining Hits And Blockbusters In Bollywood

The Hindi film industry referred to generally as Bollywood has hit a purple patch this year. It is raining hits and blockbusters bringing joy to the trade.

In the last one month, which is from Independence Day, there has been a successful film for almost every week. The two Independence Day releases, Mission Mangal and Batla House have been blockbuster and hit respectively.

They were followed by Saaho which is a hit in Hindi. It has crossed 140 Cr Nett and is likely to add a few more crores before its closing. The very next week saw the release of Chichchore, which had Saaho girl Shraddha Kapoor in the lead. It opened decently but has since then picked up tremendously and racing towards 100 Cr Nett.

Finally, the Friday that just went by saw the release of Dream Girl starring Ayushmann Khurrara. It is already a hit and is galloping towards a blockbuster status. The other small film Article 375 that came with it is also doing well.
