Fans were thrilled when they heard Varun Dhawan was returning to rom-coms. They wanted the Badrinath Ki Dulhania version of Varun they loved, and with Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, they feel this might finally be it.
The trailer dropped yesterday, and social media was buzzing with reactions.
It shows Sunny, played by Varun Dhawan, dumped by his ex Ananya, played by Sanya Malhotra, and Tulsi, played by Janhvi Kapoor, left by her ex Vikram, played by Rohit Saraf.
The two heartbroken leads team up to make their exes jealous. The trailer hints they might fall for each other while carrying out this plan.
While some found the trailer fun, others felt the three-minute cut gave away the entire story, leaving no room for mystery.
Viewers said the scenes and dialogues were entertaining but called the plot too predictable.
Some even criticised Janhvi Kapoor and Varun Dhawan’s performances, calling them slightly cringe. Janhvi drew more criticism, with people saying her acting felt weak and her presence did not quite fit.
A film is a team effort, but Janhvi is often trolled and blamed whenever a project underperforms. Fans argue it is unfair that her co-stars escape such harsh criticism.
