Ramoji Film City Absolutely Safe, Propaganda Busted

Bollywood star heroine Kajol has issued a clarification regarding her recent remark about Ramoji Film City (RFC) being “haunted.”

The actress, who is currently promoting her horror drama Maa, said her comment was made in good humor and was not meant to be taken seriously.

In a statement shared on social media, Kajol wrote, “I wish to address my earlier remark about Ramoji Film City in the context of promoting my film, Maa. I have filmed multiple projects at Ramoji Film City and stayed there many times over the years.”

“I have always found it to be a very professional environment for filmmaking, and I have seen so many tourists enjoying themselves. It’s a great destination and absolutely safe for families and children.”

The clarification comes after Kajol’s earlier interview with Galatta Plus sparked backlash online. In that interview, she had said, “There are quite a few scary places like that. A prime example is Ramoji Rao Studios in Hyderabad, which is considered one of the most haunted places in the world. I am lucky enough not to have seen anything, though.”

Her comment triggered brutal backlash from netizens who accused her of promoting superstition and spreading rumors about one of the finest studios in the world.

Ramoji Film City holds the Guinness World Record for being the world’s largest film studio complex. It is a major hub for Indian film production and a popular tourist destination.

Kajol’s clarification is a welcome move as it busts the propaganda against RFC. It reaffirms RFC’s reputation as a safe, professional, and world-class facility — one of India’s proudest achievements in cinema infrastructure.
