Teaser Talk: Lavish And Larger Than Life But Lacking Soul

The teaser of the new big-budget epic in the making from Dharma Productions, Kalank, is out. Abhishek Varman of Two States fame helms it.

The first glimpse without any doubt leaves an impact. The visuals give a larger than life epic feel. For a period flick set in the times of partition, Kalank feels like a Baahubali-lite regarding the setting and landscape. It is way over the top and comes across as fantasy even. The dialogues on top of that, don’t sync well and stick out. Overall, the gloss sure manages to create an impact visually, but there is no doubt a feeling that something is amiss, it feels lifeless. We hope the trailer does a better job of presenting the soul.
