Kangana Rejected Akshay & Ranbir’s Biggest Films

Kangana Ranaut has never been one to play it safe in Bollywood; she chooses content over star value every time. An instance of this was when Ranbir Kapoor came to her house himself to offer her a role in Sanju.

Though he insisted on her, Kangana refused, saying the role, which eventually went to Anushka Sharma, had no depth or importance.

This bold approach extended to other big films as well. Kangana rejected Akshay Kumar’s Singh Is Bliing because she wants to empower women through substantial roles and not just be a prop.

Similarly, she rejected Salman Khan’s offers for Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Sultan because she was not satisfied with the role. Though she is on good terms with Salman, she gives him credit for being nice even when she says no to his films.

Besides film roles, Kangana’s beliefs define her professional choices. She has always refused to endorse fairness creams, saying they are racist and regressive. Her defiance of the industry standards has made her a principled actor over a mercenary one.

Kangana’s recent film Emergency is a political thriller where she plays Indira Gandhi; she’s doing what she likes: bold and powerful stories. Whether it’s films or personal beliefs, she won’t play by the rules; that’s why she’s one of the bravest actresses in Bollywood.
