Karan Johar Eyes Another Celebrity Show.
Koffee with Karan may be ending but Karan Johar is not ready to say goodbye to the couch just yet.
It is the last season of Koffee with Karan. Karan Johar made that very clear when he announced the ninth season of the JioHotstar show. This time he has lined up a star studded guest list including Shah Rukh Khan and son Aryan, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and more. But is it the filmmaker host’s final brush with a chat show? Not really.
According to the latest reports, Karan is already planning to launch a new gossipy chat show after wrapping up season 9. The buzz is that he wants to create his own IP under his own banner. The reason is business. The intellectual property of Koffee with Karan is owned by JioHotstar, so Karan wants a show whose rights he holds completely.
A source shared that while there was speculation that Karan ended Koffee to focus on direction, he is also a sharp businessman and a brilliant host who does not want to leave the chat show space. You can still expect the same glitz, glamour and gossip that made Koffee iconic.
The new show might even take a different route. Instead of launching directly on an OTT platform, it could first debut on YouTube, build a strong audience and then be picked up by a streamer later.
