As it went viral on social media, people from India realised that it was an exact replica of Kolhapuri sandals which are sold by hard working artisans for 300-1500 rupees. But Prada was selling copied designs for over 1.2 lakh rupees.
It raises a great concern over fashion theft, a brand like Prada has means to influence the world. But vulnerable artisans were exploited by them when they could have given them due credit and raised awareness about Kolhapuri sandals.
